Gold in small football and beach volleyball

Slovak teams at the European Team Cup in Bratislava only lost in three-on-three basketball, which was won by the Slovenian women.

BRATISLAVA - The premier European Team Cup for young players under 25 culminated at Kuchajda in Bratislava today. Slovakia confirmed its abilities by winning first place in men's small football and beach volleyball, thanks to the trio of Beneková, Fartelová, and Tereňová. The golden trio was spoiled by the Slovenian women, who triumphed in three-on-three basketball, while our girls finished sixth.

Best Slovakia 2 It was only in the fifth match of the small football tournament that Slovakia 2 conceded a goal for the first time. However, a 3-2 victory over Serbia was enough to secure their place in the semifinals. Our young men advanced to the final by defeating Estonia, and they crowned the tournament with a 3-0 victory over Bulgaria. "An excellent result. We've shown that we have our strength in small football among the young," praised Peter Králik, the organizer and head of small football in Slovakia.

Our representatives in three-on-three basketball, consisting of Riecka, Dohňanská, Gažiová, and Pahulyová, did not make it to the medal rounds. They finished in sixth place after being denied a place in the semifinals following a 6-9 defeat to Spain.

However, beach volleyball players, like the footballers, dominated the tournament - in the lineup of Beneková, Fartelová, and Tereňová. They successively eliminated Romanians, Italians, Hungarians, and easily defeated Slovak women in the final.
